Why this company exists

Surveying doesn't need to be dressed up as something else to be good work. Control, layout, boundary evidence and clean field notes are the job, and we like the job.

We built Beyond Topographic for the work that needs a licensed surveyor who knows a jobsite. That means layout on a busy deck, control that has to hold for the life of a building, and the land surveys that come before any of it.

How we work

Field first. The office work exists to make the field work right.

• We keep the record: control diagrams, field notes and as-builts

Heritage

Second-generation surveying roots

Brandon Pulling is a second-generation Colorado surveyor. His father is Scott Pulling, PLS, the surveyor behind GSS Surveying. The respect for monuments, field notes and boundary evidence came with the trade.

GSS Surveying is becoming part of Beyond Topographic. Scott leads our land survey work: the same experience and knowledge, with modern workflows.

The robotic instruments, the model workflows and the software came later, and we use them every day.

How we use technology
